Joshua Cieszynski is an associate attorney at Thon Beck Vanni Callahan & O’Connor, where he represents individuals who have been injured as a result of the negligence of others, including in matters involving motor vehicle accidents, dangerous property conditions, and wrongful death.
Josh earned his Juris Doctor from Loyola Law School through its evening program while maintaining a full-time professional career. During law school, he gained substantial hands-on legal experience working with clients and active cases. He served as a mediator with Loyola’s Center for Conflict Resolution, assisting individuals in underserved communities in resolving disputes. As a law clerk with the District Attorney’s Office at the San Fernando Courthouse, Josh appeared in court, conducted preliminary hearings, and argued motions. He also contributed to Loyola’s Project for the Innocent, investigating cases involving claims of wrongful conviction.
Before entering the legal profession, Josh spent more than 20 years in property management, including owning and operating a property management company and serving as general manager of a luxury high-rise in downtown Los Angeles. His experience provides him with a practical understanding of property operations, risk, liability, and dispute resolution that is particularly relevant to cases involving dangerous property conditions. His prior career also gave him extensive experience working directly with people facing complicated and often stressful circumstances.
Josh earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Southern California. He also spent several years studying and performing as an actor, including extensive training in the Sanford Meisner technique under William Alderson and Don Bloomfield, with particular emphasis on careful listening and responding in the moment.
Drawing on his legal training and decades of professional experience, Josh brings a practical and thoughtful perspective to representing injured clients. He understands that for clients, pursuing a legal case often comes during one of the most difficult periods of their lives. Josh works to ensure that his clients understand what is happening in their case and why, and that they feel heard, informed, and supported throughout the legal process.
